I was paying almost $600 a month on my own. The agent found me a plan for $84 after the subsidy and stayed on the phone until it was done. I did not know I qualified.
I lost coverage when I changed jobs and had 60 days to figure it out. Called at 9am, was enrolled before lunch. No pressure, no runaround.
They explained the difference between the plans instead of just pushing the expensive one. First time insurance has been explained to me in normal English.
Licensed and active in the states below. Pick yours for local plan details.
What you pay depends on your ZIP code, age, household size, household income and the plan level you choose. Most people who buy their own coverage qualify for a premium tax credit that lowers the monthly cost. The only way to know your real number is to run your ZIP and household details — that takes about two minutes and costs nothing.
ACA Marketplace Open Enrollment runs November 1 through January 15 in most states, and you must enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1. Outside that window you can still enroll if you have a qualifying life event — losing job-based coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or turning 26 — which opens a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days from the event. Short-term and supplemental plans can be purchased year-round in states that allow them. A licensed agent can tell you in one call which door is open to you.
Premium tax credits are based on your estimated annual household income and household size relative to the federal poverty level, and on the cost of plans in your area. Many people are surprised to find they qualify — including self-employed people and households well into the middle-income range. We check your eligibility as part of the quote; there is no cost and no obligation.
No. YouHealthGroup is an independent licensed insurance agency. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the United States government, the federal Medicare program, CMS, or any state or federal agency, and this is not the Health Insurance Marketplace® website. You can always go directly to HealthCare.gov. People work with us because a licensed agent compares on-Marketplace and off-Marketplace options together and handles the enrollment with you on the phone.
Nothing. Our service is free to you. Licensed agents are compensated by the insurance carriers, and your premium is the same whether you enroll through us or on your own. What you get is somebody who does this all day telling you what the differences actually mean.
To start, just your ZIP code. To get an accurate quote we ask who needs coverage and their ages, your household size, your estimated annual household income, and whether anyone uses tobacco. No Social Security number and no medical exam are needed for a quote.
If you ask us to. When you submit the form you are giving a licensed agent permission to contact you about health coverage at the number you provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you can opt out at any time by asking the agent or replying STOP to a text.
Often, yes — but it depends on the plan network. HMO plans keep costs down by using a tighter network; PPO plans cost more but give you wider access and out-of-network options. Tell your agent which doctors and prescriptions matter to you and they will check the networks and drug formularies before you enroll, not after.
